			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>The Human Resources department of the Pacific National Exhibition is presently recruiting for the following contract position:</strong><br><strong></strong></p><p><strong>POSITION</strong>: Manager, Group Sales<br><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS: </strong>Full-Time<br><strong>POSTING DATE: </strong>January 4, 2011</p><p><br>The Group Sales Department at the PNE manages group ticket sales for Playland Amusement Park, the Fair at the PNE, Fright Nights at Playland, as well as other year round events. Notable Group Sales programs include Birthday Parties, Amusement Park Science Programs, School Year End Parties, Online Ticket Programs, Corporate &amp; Special Events and Private Playland Park Rentals.</p><p><br><span style="text-decoration: underline;" _mce_style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>SPECIFIC REPONSIBILITIES:</strong></span> </p><ul><li>Develop, implement, evaluate and administer group sales plans, program standards, best practices and policies to generate group ticket sales </li><li>Develop and manage the group sales budget and ensure the expenditures are in compliance with budget allocations</li><li> Develop and oversee strategies for sourcing new clients for corporate events, special events &amp; private park rentals </li><li>Monitor business trends and customer preferences including analyzing sales program statistics and reports Develop, implement and maintain policies, controls and guidelines to facilitate the day-to-day administration of programs for group sales portfolio </li><li>Supervise duties of Group Sales support staff. Supervisory duties include: training, instructing, planning, and reviewing work of others to ensuring an effective and well-motivated work team </li><li>Source new business and maintain a presence in the industry marketplace by attending tradeshows and networking events</li><li>Anticipate and identify the business development potential of current and planned programs </li><li>Plan, direct and manage group sales advertising and promotional programs </li><li>Liaise with prospective clients to obtain an understanding of event needs; communicate with PNE event planning staff to obtain cost estimates for events and/or feasibility projections for any special requirements; negotiate contracts and financial details; oversee events; and coordinate post-event review with client and PNE staff </li><li>Conduct special studies, make presentations, and participate in committee work relating to the areas of responsibility</li><li>Perform other related duties as required</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:</strong> </p><ul><li>Post Secondary diploma in a relevant discipline and considerable experience in Group Sales, Customer Service,</li><li> Entertainment and/or Special Event industry OR an equivalent combination of education and experience 3 &#8211; 5 years experience in Group Sales, event planning; training in computer applications; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience </li><li>Advanced knowledge of group sales, event management, sales &amp; marketing, and contract negotiations required </li><li>Superior communication, interpersonal, supervisory and leadership skills required </li><li>Advanced knowledge of amusement park operations, event preparation/planning, entertainment, sports &amp; catering an asset </li><li>Successful candidate must have strong creative, planning, organization, analytical and administration skills. </li><li>Strong salesmanship &amp; public speaking skills required. </li><li>Must be available to work weekends and evenings for special events.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Applications for this position must be submitted via the PNE website at: <a href="http://www.pne.ca">www.pne.ca</a><br _mce_bogus="1"></p>]]></content:encoded>
